High Performance Evaporation like no other!
How does the Desert Spring humidifier outperform all other humidifiers?
The secret lies in the finely textured rotary discs.
As we all know water will bead up or pool on most surfaces. This is
caused by the surface tension of the fluid. Ultimately if we can reduce
the thickness of the layer of water, it will evaporate more rapidly.
Remember spreading a puddle of water over a larger surface area (maybe
on the tennis court?) to help it dissolve faster? The same theory holds
for the textured discs of the Desert Spring. They reduce the thickness
of the water, thus creating more efficient evaporation – efficiencies
you just can't get from any screen or pad-based humidifiers.
Humidify 24 hours a day
- "Flow through" humidifiers as well as mist, wick and drum styles all require heat from the furnace to provide evaporation. As a result, you only get humidity added to the air when there is a call for heat. You are therefore limited to the number of times the burner or heat source comes on. This can leave the home too dry even though the humidifier is sized properly.
- The Desert Spring "rotary disc" humidifier system is so efficient
it produces 7 gallons per day with just the fan on. Yes, even in the
absence of heat the home can still receive humidity. Now the home
will receive a more constant level of humidity rather than spikes
of humidity when the burner comes on. In addition, this is a real
benefit for furnaces / heat pumps which have a low discharge temperature
to start with.
Water Efficiency
- "Flow through" humidifiers have an efficiency ratio of between 5:1 and
8:1. For every gallon of water evaporated into humidity between 5-8
gallons are wasted down the drain. (
Wastes up to 80 gallons of water a day or more than 2,500 gallons per month!)
- The Desert Spring "rotary disc" humidifier system has a water efficiency ratio of 1:1 - almost 100% water efficient. A small amount of water needs to be discarded at regular intervals to drain minerals that collect in the drain basin (i.e. 1 gallon / draining).

is North America's most water efficient and effective humidification
solution for residential central air systems available today.
