Desert Spring's unique and patented rotary disc technology yields many
user benefits, including reliable performance, simple maintenance,
energy and water savings when compared to traditional 'flow-through'
designs.
Based on historical weather data and a few assumptions
about usage*, it is possible to estimate how much water and energy
you may expect to save.
To find out the annual impact you could have on
the environment, please select your State or Province:
* estimate based on the number of days when the historical average temperature
falls below 32F/0C degrees for each city, multiplied by 8 hours to provide a conservative estimate of daily use for a humidifier. This
usage factor is again multiplied by 3.9 gallons to calculate the savings. 3.9 gallons per hour represents the average amount of water
collected through independent testing of three popular flow-through humidifier models. The energy savings are based on 62 watts per
hour, which is the energy gain (measure as temperature rise) between the incoming water and the waste water of flow-through units
tested. We subtract 4 watts from this value to account for the power consumption of the rotary disc motor, for a net factor of 58 watts
per hour savings.
